LACNIC XIII will be in Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles from May 16 to May 21, 2010 at the World Trade Center Curaçao and will be hosted by the Bureau Telecommunications and Post (BT&P) and the Caribbean Internet Exchange (CAR-IX).
Willemstad City will be the meeting place for representatives of different sectors of the Latin American and Caribbean Internet community, academia, civil society, ISPs, telecommunications industry leaders, governments, ccTLDs, NAPs and others. LACNIC XIII will be provided a framework for debates on the Internet issues that are of interest and concern to the region, theoretical and practical workshops, forums, assemblies, etc.
The results of these meetings are materialized in concrete actions, be it the definition of policies for Internet resource distribution within the region, such as regional interconnection project initiatives, or the creation of working groups for providing information on IPv6 and promoting its adoption.
The field ‘Total Lengh’which is part of the IPv4 header, is not found in the IPv6 header. Its function was to count the size of the packet payload plus the size of a variable lenght header. As the IPv6 header has a fixed size, the presence of this field is unnecessary.
