The German IPv6 Summit will take place in Potsdam
at May
7-8, 2008. Hosted by the Hasso-Plattner-Institute, the German
IPv6 Summit
provides two days of International, European, and German
experts to address
IPv6 technology at work. The first day includes
talks about IPv6 strategy and
deployment status worldwide, with a focus
on Europe, China, Japan, USA,
India, and Korea. Day two will complement
the program by addressing IPv6
deployment from the perspective of
operators and ISPs as well as deployment
in the public sector including
education, administration, and defence.

The German IPv6 Summit is organized by
the
Hasso-Plattner-Institute at the University of Potsdam in
close
collaboration the the German IPv6 Council, the national chapter of
the
International IPv6 Forum. The German IPv6 Council has been
established
to group all the different persons in industry, research,
politics and
administration in the IPv6 field in Germany with the clear
mission to
advocate IPv6 by improving technology, market, and deployment user
and
industry awareness of IPv6, creating a quality and secure
new
Generation Internet.

The aim of the Latin American IPv6 Forum is to promote the adoption
of the IPv6 Protocol within the region of Latin America and the
Caribbean, as well as to share experiences regarding the implementation
within our region of services and applications based on IPv6.

Experiences
will be exchanged both in relation to commercial applications as well
as academic applications, including the development of projects for
implementing IPv6 in the future.

This meeting is
completely open. The audience of this forum is extremely broad, and it
encompasses professionals from academic and commercial sectors,
university networks, Internet Service Providers, NAP operators, ccTLDs
and professionals of the telecommunications industry in general.

Latin America and the Caribbean IPv6 Task Force

The
main objective of the IPv6 Task Force for Latin America and the
Caribbean is to promote de adoption of IPv6 within the region. In order
to do so, the "LAC IPv6 TF" coordinates the cooperation among the
different parties involved in the adoption of IPv6 in Latin America and
the Caribbean; it also promotes different activities aimed at informing
and educating on IPv6 and related technologies.

This meeting is completely open to all those who wish to participate.

LACNIC meetings focus mainly on the development and stability of
Internet within the region of Latin America and the Caribbean. Its
target audience is extremely broad, including among others, Internet
service providers, regulatory bodies, academic networks, ccTLD
operators, NAP operators, civil society representatives and
professionals from the telecommunications industry in general.

The
results of these meetings are materialized in concrete actions, be it
the definition of policies for Internet resource distribution within
the region, such as regional interconnection project initiatives, or
the creation of working groups for providing information on IPv6 and
promoting its adoption.
